Opal is the third book in the Lux series.
Opal is a very plot setting book. It is still a very good book, there is action in this book, a lot in the end but for most of the book it is figuring out what they're going to do and planning. Somethings happen that Daemon, Katy and the others would have never expected. After the death of someone close they realize that there is no real safety, they are everywhere and they know what they want. Daemon and Katy and the rest of them risk a lot. Somethings crumble an limits are tested to the max.
Opal is a very good book but am still recommending it for 13 and older because of the same reasons as the other books, and there is more sexual contact and thought in this book and the books to come.

When Daemon set out to prove his feelings for Katy he wasn't messing around. Doubting him isn't something she will do again, and now that they've gotten through the rough patches, well... they is a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even Daemon can't protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything she's no longer the same Katy. She's different... and she doesn't know what that'll mean in the end.
At each step they take in discovering the truth puts them in the path of the secret organization responsible for testing and torturing hybrids. The more Katy realizes there is no end to what she is capable of. The death of someone close still lingers close to all of them and her friendship with Dee is getting worse.
Help comes from the most unlikely of sources and friends turn into the deadliest of enemies, but they wont turn back. Even if the outcome will change everyone's lives forever.
Together they're stronger...and they know it.
