This book is in with my tops. I didn't rush through this book, it isn't a book that is readable in a day or two, I think I read it in like four. It is beautifully written. Unlike the last few books, with the mistakes or the weird wording or the need to read through it fast to get on the another one, this one, I wanted to read. Sarah wrote this book beautifully, she went into depth, she didn't just explain what's happening and how she felt. She really explained how they all really felt, the good and the ugly. The description of her magic and the love these men have for her, it feels real.
It's been a minute since I read a seriously in depth book and it feels so good to read something that's... good. Can't wait to read the next one.
This book takes place in a two week span and a lot of stuff happens. Most of the book is out of the main character, Gray Desario's perspective. But some chapters are out of the men's perspective and I loved reading theirs, the connect they feel to this woman and I loved that even though they were all gaw-gaw over Gray they aren't the same. Sometimes in books when there's more than one guy (even sometimes just one) they all say the same things, they want to protect her, they love her, they'll never let anything happen to her, etc - although all that is true - they each have their own way of showing it, their own personal reason for loving this Witch. In the beginning of the book compared to the end, you really see Gray come into her own, she is an entirely different person with an entirely different outlook, but at the same time Sarah kept her the same Gray Desario that you fell in love with at the beginning of the book.
This book was truly a good read and if you like the Lux series, the Vampire Academy or Angel Academy, you will definitely love this book. No question. Anyone who has read the books mentioned above can read this book. There's a lot of swearing and sex and sexual content, anyone rated M could read this no problem. Oh! And it's an easy read too, I didn't have to look up a crap ton of words so that 's a solid bonus! I rate this book a 8.5/10.

A witch outrunning her past. Five smouldering-hot guardians. And the dark secret that could destroy them all… Blackmoon Bay is a city of monsters. Surviving here means never leaving home without a sharp stake. It means keeping secrets, even from friends. And unless I want the Hunters finding me again, it means my witchcraft stays on lock-down—permanently. First time I fumble? Three witches get murdered for my mistake—including my best friend. Now I’m hunting a killer, and the magic I’ve snooze-buttoned for years is quickly making up for lost time. And attracting dangerous allies... Asher, the bad-boy incubus. Darius, the all-too-tempting vampire. Emilio, the wolf shifter with a big heart and a treacherous past. Ronan, the only demon I trust with my soul. And Death himself, drawn to my magic for reasons I don’t understand. Together they’ve sworn to protect me from the evil out there, but even with a killer on the loose, it’s not the evil out there that scares me. A shadow lurks inside me, black and deadly as a bomb. And I’m pretty sure my magical mishap just lit the fuse. I’m Gray Desario. Witch. Survivor. Occasional bringer of chaos. And tonight? The darkness is coming…
