This genre of book isn't what I'm typically into, but I was waiting for another book that was on order from Indigo.
Honestly, I will probably read more books along the line of this one. It was really good. Even though it is book four in the series, each book is different. Different place, different characters, different plot. I found after reading this book and reading what the other three books are about, it's safe to say they are along the same lines of each other.
All of the main guys are cops, the girls are running from a killer, or some dark secret past...or both. They have to figure it out before someone ends up dead, and along the journey they fall in love, with just makes it harder, but oh so much better for us as readers.
I enjoyed, Denim Detective, it was a book that kept me on the edge of my seat and just when I thought I knew who the killer was, I was pushed back to the beginning. In this book I loved how Adrianne Lee made me fell like I was along side these characters. I felt the thick emotion they felt. She was very detailed in both the Deedra, Beau, and the madman's feelings. The insight into Deedra and Beau's head, to read how they over came issues and problems - together, and individually was promising. It was great in the sense that I literally couldn't put the book down. Getting told to put the book away in class, or hiding it in my desk during a lesson. I just had to know, just had to find out. It definitely kept me guessing.
I liked the struggle that Deedra went through, like how the author wrote about it and how you could see how her mind worked. There were some things that I had to reread a couple of times to understand what Lee was getting at, and at the end it did leave a big question open, not giving any spoilers but my question was "HOW?!" and you'll understand when you read it. Personally, I think that she could have tied the book up better in the end, because she didn't have to leave me with that question.
Also I liked how Lee kept making references to parts that have already passed or from the beginning of the book. One thing I'll say is be careful because even the smallest detail can become a huge clue, even the smallest things have the biggest shock.
I wouldn't let anyone who doesn't know fiction from non fiction read this because of the fact that there is a killer and at some points it's pretty intense. Also there is sexual content but there's no swearing, or next to no swearing.
I would rate this book a 7/10.

Grief stricken after her baby daughter was kidnapped, Deedra Shanahan had no choice but to flee the terrifying memories of her hometown. Now, in jeopardy and running for her life, Deedra returned to Buffalo Falls - and to the only man who could keep her alive: her estranged husband.
Facing Beau Shanahan again - and their tumultuous past - proved even more dangerous than the numerous attempts on her life. But joining forces was the only solution for locating their child and capturing the madman who wanted Deedra dead.
Now, with only each other to trust, could Beau and Deedra overcome danger - before they were consumed by desire...?
