So I've been reading a lot of Harlequin Romances. Intrigue is the best ones by far.

Hiding His Witness is a great book. It took me 3 days to read it, which was painful because I couldn't put the book down, but you know, apparently school is important and whatever.

So in this book there are secrets that will make you have to turn the page to find out what it is, or what is happening. Even though it's two hours past your bedtime you have to flip to the next page.

Reilly is an amazing book. Strong, helpful, caring, giving, and over all protective and sexy as hell.

He is so thoughtful, always making sure Carey is warm, if she's had enough sleep, if she's safe.

Carey on the other hand has no idea how to feel.

She can't get involved with the sexy detective, who has vowed to keep her safe with his life.

He is irresistible and is kind. She knows that she will just end up hurting him in the end. Some secrets skeletons are just meant to stay buried in the closet.

On the run, and hiding from a known killer she can't help but find that talking to him is so easy, and that... she wants too. But she can't. Reilly can't get involved with a witness, she was under his protection and he can't let what happen to his old partner happen to him. He won't let it.

She was just a witness, under his protection... or is it something intimately more?

He's just the detective assigned to keep her alive until she can testify, then she's gone, no looking back... or will she want to stay, and fight?

This book is a book that kept my heart pumping and my blood rushing. It was a book where the butterflies didn't stop fluttering in my stomach. At least once a chapter I was all like, "awe he's so perfect." "I want a guy like that!" And so on and so forth. It was definitely a book that made me wish I was Carey Smith. I can tell you that much.

There is sexual content in this book so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who cannot take the sexual bit in the book. I loved this book. If you want action, suspense, mystery, secrets, and a sexy man protecting a beautiful woman, oh and don't forget the drop dead romance tension that is looming throughout the whole book. Then this is a definitee book to read.

I rate this book 8/10

"Which of you is the real Carey?" Detective Reilly Truman has dealt with frightened witnesses before, but his gut tells him Carey Smith is on the run. And whoever she's running from terrifies her far more than any serial killer. Carey trusts no one. But Reilly is determined to protect the vulnerable beauty despite her resistance. As they hide out together at his family's secluded ranch, there's no escaping the desire simmering between them. Carey knows better than to fall for her protector. For Carey, falling in love is more terrifying than her peril. Because to get his revenge her vicious pursuer will kill anyone she cares about....
