This book is the second installment of the de Vincent trilogy. It is a stand alone book compared to the first one. The first book is Lucian (the youngest de Vincent) and Julia's story of how they fell in love and the trouble they faced. This book is about the middle de Vincent Gabriel and Nicolette. In this book Gab and Nic have a past, and it's rocky. She's known Gab since she was a child and since she was 16 she had been in love with him. They go to great lengths to keep away from each other even though everything inside of them is screaming for them to give in to the lust they have for each other. But Gab is 10 years older than her. And Nic has a stalker. A dangerous one. Personally, I loved his book. I didn't put it down and finished it in two and a half days (because I had school and soccer). I loved seeing Gab in his own book. I really liked his character when he was in Moonlight Sins, and I was so happy when I read that he was getting his own book - all of them are. A book staring Devlin is coming out February 2019 and I can't freaking wait. The only thing I wished there was more of was the mystery. A couple of things happened that made Nic antsy and think she was being watched but I just think they should have been more throughout the book because although the book was very well planned out, I found the ending - like what happened to her, was rushed. I loved all the sex. It was more detailed and vivid than Lucian's book and the swearing. Oh my god. There was a lot of it. I liked that though. Books like that. Where it's representing real life people and how they would react in these situations. Like a thirty-two year old man isn't going to say "oh gosh darn it that really blows." No, he's going to say. "God dammit, that really fucking sucks." I would say that so obviously Gab would too. I like that a lot. I want to read about Devlin. In these two books Devlin has this rod shoved so far up his ass that he's Lawrence. I can't wait see the real Dev, his soft, loving, not-Sabrina side. I want to see the asshole be in love and fight for a woman he actually wants. Also, I don't picture Gab as the cover model on this book. Nor do I think Lucian was well represented either. Lux got Daemon perfect. Katy Swartz, Lucian and Gabriel de Vincent, not so much. I got way better - sexier versions in my head. I give this book a 7.5/10. It was well put together, well written and I absolutely love Jennifer L. Armentrout so bonus points for being her. But what got me was like I said, the little mystery to her stalker. But the drama, the potty mouth and the SEX. Was unbelieveable awesome! Teenager to read this. Young adult because well it's a very inappropriate book for any child or preteen.

Nicolette Bresson never thought she’d return to the de Vincents’ bayou compound. It’s where her parents work, where Nikki grew up... and where she got her heart broken by Gabriel de Vincent himself. Yet here she is, filling in for her sick mother. Avoiding Gabe should be easy, especially when so much of Nikki’s time is spent trying not to be stabbed in the back by the malicious hangers-on who frequent the mansion. But escaping memories of Gabe, much less his smoking-hot presence, is harder than expected—especially since he seems determined to be in Nikki’s space as much as possible. Gabriel spent years beating himself up over his last encounter with Nikki. He’d wanted her then, but for reasons that were bad for both of them. Things have now changed. Gabe sees more than a girl he’s known forever; he sees a smart, talented, and heartbreakingly beautiful woman... one who’s being stalked from the shadows. Now, Gabe will do anything to keep Nikki safe—and to stop the de Vincent curse from striking again.
